Clean out the clutter (If you haven't worn it for two
years, get rid of it or store it in another place or donate it).

Take out each drawer and clean, dust or vacuum the casing.

Reline the drawers if necessary.

Dressers
-
Dust, or wood wax tops and sides. (Murphy's oil soup is
recommended)
Bed
-
Remove mattress, pads, pillows and blankets and hang them
outside to freshen them, or if the weather isn't good put them in the dryer
on the air cycle for 15 minutes.

Disinfect baby mattress and pads, then hang them outside
to freshen them and take the cleaner smell out, or if the weather isn't
good put the pad in the dryer on the air cycle for 15 minutes.

Wash or put fresh blanket on bed daily for babies, as
needed (or weekly) for young children. Sheets should be changed daily
for babies, as needed (or weekly) for young children.

Turn the mattress.

Clean the headboards, dust the edges

Now is the best time to vacuum under the beds, drawers,
dressers and edge along the walls, but be sure to do the dusting first.

Sheets should be changed twice a month.
Window Dressings
-
Vacuum drapes and sheers or hang them outside to freshen
them, or if the weather isn't good put them in the dryer on the air cycle
for 15 minutes (re-hang immediately). Wash curtains if they are washable.

Wash sheers if needed.

Dust or wash blinds.

Wash windows
Walls
-
Spot clean walls.

Clean framed picture glass.
-
If a ceiling looks bad enough to be washed, it's time
to repaint.
Floors
-
Sweep, Vacuum, or clean floor. (If floor can be waxed
do this at least once a year - twice is ideal)

Sweep, Vacuum or clean baseboards.
-
Vacuum edges of carpet using crevice tool.
-
Wash dirty traffic areas, spot clean rug.
Other Chores in the Bedroom
-
Air out the room with outside air when possible.
-
Dust picture frames, decorations and everything else that
could gather dust.
-
Check for cobwebs. (Put a damp towel or a rag on a broom
for easy reach)
-
Clean light fixtures and replace bulbs with energy efficient
ones.
-
Wash windows, glass and mirrors.
-
A good time to move furniture, for a change of setting,
is when doing a heavy cleaning.

Do laundry

Take out the trash and change trash liners.
Other Chores in the Nursery
